Just bought an new JD 4100 with 410 loader. Am looking to get a rear blade and/or landscape rake. Found both in the Northern catelog made by Vassar (?)Does anyone know if these are any good. Price is a bit easier to handle than the JD dealer prices.

You're right, these implements are a little easier on your wallet. I think that if you're planning on using these items very much you may not be happy with the quality. These are definitely not commercial implements but are designed for moreof the occasional user. You'll find yourself doing some welding on these itemsespecially if used a lot. ....

I tend to agree, You get what you pay for. Speaking of that, I just got a price of $15300.00 for a 4100 hydro with a 54' front blade and a 60" mid mount mower, how does that compare to your deal? ....

It seems to me a 54' front blade on a JD4100 would be overloading the tractor just a bit. ....

I had a JD425 garden tractor a couple years back with a JD 54" blade. I was skeptical at first; however, as long as you keep some angle on the blade, it worked just fine. The 4100 is quite a bit bigger than the 425 so I think the 54" blade would be fine. :-)) ....

I got a 4100 in Janurary, I got a 60" Land Pride rear blade for about $300.I looked at some cheaper alternatives, down to $150, but they looked flimsyand did not have much of a curve on the blade. I can't tell you about theperformance of the cheaper ones but I do not regret buying the land pride. ....

My local JD Dealer recommended LandPride Implements. Judging from some recent e-mails, it seems like this may be worth the few extra dollars as most people seem to be happy with Land Pride.FYI-I got my JD 4100 gear,4wd,pwr steer, turf tire, 410 loader($2000-$3000 ??), delivered for $14500 including our state sales tax. ....

GeorgeDo yourself a favor and stay away from the Northern catalog stuff; you'll find it very light and maybe suited for the lawn tractor but not your 4100. Greg ....
